Redland Junior Report (31st Oct 2009)
The season has started well with over 100 children registered. We have lots of new faces which has meant a lot of organising at both Sunday morning coaching sessions and at league matches. Once again the coaching team are doing a sterling job and we have gradually shaped 2 U11, 2 U13 and 2 U15 teams together for the Avon League.
The U11 teams had their first outing on 4th October. The A team started slowly with a loss and 3 draws but the B team did really well despite narrowly losing 3 games and drawing 0-0 with the A team. Many of the B team hadn't played league hockey before so it was particularly pleasing that they did so well.
The U13/15's played the following week and had mixed success. The U13 A team won 1 game and lost 1 game and lie 4th in the league. The B team lost both games and lie 8th. Many of the U13's are new to the teams and will take a while to adjust to the pace of matches. The U15 A team played brilliantly as always and won both of their games and lie top of the league at the moment. The B team lost both games but put up a good performance and need to build on their hard work.
The next matches are 8th November for U11's and 15th November for U13/15's.
