Although it was a home game for our second round cup match v Minehead, we played at Priory School, Weston courtesy of Ness.

As usual we started slowly and the first five minutes of the game was a scrappy affair. We then settled into our passing game and created a number of chances which we struggled to put away as their GK spent a lot of her time on the floor until Elaine got on the end of a really good move up the right.

The Wereys way of playing then came into its own with some lovely transfer play to open up the game. The second goal came from one of these passages of play which Mitch slotted away from a tight angle on the left.

The third goal was a great finish by Heidi on the left post from an accurate pass from Tam who then went on to score the fourth from another lovely passing movement. This made it 4-0 at half time and Wereys were looking quite comfortable.

Minehead kept pressing and forced us back into our own half a couple of times. The DOD pass of the day came from Tam who aerialed a ball from her own 25 off the pitch nearly hitting the spectators. Tam redeemed herself by working incredibly hard again forcing Minehead into conceding a number of short corners. It was from one of these that Cath scored the fifth goal by LIFTING the ball into the net.

The final goal came from another good team move with Cath playing a hard ball into the circle which Mitch deflected around the GK.

A resounding 6-0 victory over a good team and a great squad performance.

Thanks to Ness and the off field team for their immense support.
