The squad was lower in number for our second outing of the Avon Junior Hockey League festival on Sunday 20 October, but despite this the team played brilliantly and worked very hard.

Our first match against Devizes was very tough and we defended well for most of the game with Betsy making some great tackles and clearances. Tom made some good saves in goal, and the midfield worked well to try and make some attacks. We held the opposition out for most of the game until a clearance from Betsy fell to a Devizes player who slotted the ball past Tom. The final score was 0-1.

Our next match against Westbury was a much better performance and we were able to dominate the game. We made many attacks into the opposition circle and Daisy was on form to finish on three occasions to score a hatrick. Well played team to win 3-0.

Our opposition for our third game was North Somerset who we always struggle against, however, we fought really hard to keep the goals out with Betsy again making some great tackles and Tom making some good saves. Phoebe and Daisy worked hard in midfield and we managed to keep them out until the end of the game when we conceded to make the final score 0-1.

In our last game against Chippenham, the team were very tired as we were now down to seven players. We battled hard and created a couple of scoring opportunities for Phoebe and Lily with some good attacking play. In defence, Tom made the save of the day with four consecutive saves, while lying on the floor, the best being with his helmet and somehow managed to keep the ball out of the goal. Chippenham kept pressing and our defence switched off a couple of times to concede two goals. The final score was 0-2.

These were very hard fought games against some good teams. Well done to the squad.
