We played our third Avon League festival with a couple of new members to the squad. Despite having to adjust to playing in a different competitive environment, Francesca and Edie fitted really well into the team.

Our first match against Team Bath Buccs A was a very even game and we defended very well against some skilful players. We managed to attack up the right of the pitch on a number of occasions and when we managed to get the ball into the circle we eventually converted one of these chances. We continued to defend well so finished the game 1-0 winners. A very good result.

Our next game against Chippenham was again very even and we competed well in every area of the pitch. Lily had a couple of opportunities to score but was unable to convert and we again attacked well up the right. We had a lapse if concentration in defence and the opposition scored to make the final score 0-1.

Westbury were our opposition in our third game and they had some quick and skilful players. We were slow to start the game and conceded two goals early in the game. Once we woke up we got into our rhythm and dominated the game but couldn’t score despite creating a number of chances.

We went into our last game feeling a bit tired as we only had 7 players for the last two games, however the team played brilliantly against North Somerset. Some good defending from Francesca, some good distribution and passing between Phoebe and Lyra and some good running by Lily almost resulted in a goal but not quite. We finished the game 0-0.

Overall a very pleasing display from the squad who worked very hard – well done.
