Venue information when playing Redland at UWE

Published by Terri D on

First of all…

Players should not attend any Hockey sessions if they are symptomatic or someone in their household has coronavirus.  Players should follow advice from Public Health England.

Getting to UWE and parking

Please use the main entrance to UWE and park in the – Centre for Sport’s (CFS) car park. This is because the north car park serves the Conference Centre which currently houses Bristol’s Nightingale Hospital.  If using public transport then a face covering should be worn whilst in transit.  See diagram.

When arriving at the CFS players should arrive no more than 10 minutes before their slot. We suggest that you meet in the car park and walk to the pitch as one group (observing social distancing guidelines.)

Getting to the pitch

Please follow any signage displayed by UWE.

Entry to the pitch is strictly via the top double gates of the pitch using social distancing.  (So walking past CFS building on your right, go up the steps with the pitch to your right hand side and the top gate is at the end of the pitch to your right.

Please use the NHS Track and Trace QR code at the entrance gates – aged 16 and over).

Regrettably there are no changing facilities available, so please arrive kitted up.

Toilets can be accessed using the one-way system: you will need to walk up to the pitch and then go down the steps towards the CFS building and use the entrance where the changing rooms are situated in order to access the toilets.  Face coverings must be worn as soon as you enter the CFS building to use the toilets.

The dugouts are available for use.  Please ensure social distancing in and around dugout areas when changing into kit and start/end of session. There is a water tap to the side of the dugouts.

Hand sanitising stations available on the Astro dugouts, entrance double gates and exit double gates.

After the match

Players must leave the Astro Pitch via the main steps next to the hockey portacabin and make their way back around towards the front of the building.

Regrettably we are unable to offer post-match refreshments/teas due to UWE restrictions on use of their facilities.

No spectators are allowed with the exception of one parent of any junior players (aged under 18) – one parent per child who should observe social distancing rules.

Other guidance

First aid will be delivered by CFS staff only.

Familiarise yourself with the England Hockey match-day guidance as a useful basic reminder of players’ expected conduct.
