Tense end to quarter final
25 February 2024: After a fast and evenly matched EH O55s quarter final tie against Guildford, the Wereys finally clinched victory in a sudden death penalty shootout. In a hard-fought contest, goals from Rosie and Mandy weren’t enough to seal a win and the match ended in a 2-2 stalemate.
Five brave players stepped up to take flicks, while keeper Moxy valiantly defended Guildford’s efforts. Final score – 2-2 after flicks! And so on it went to sudden death flicks, with Mitch and Cath stepping up once more, both converting and with Guildford missing their next attempt, the Wereys kept their Cup hopes alive.
