Long journey, good match, a near result

5 January 2025: On a dreary wet day, after a long journey from Bristol to Plymouth, Wereys O45s started with good intent with a number of chances to score, but unfortunately Plymouth scored first, against the run of play.

More attacking opportunities followed, with some excellent passing hockey but we were just unable to convert – again. Plymouth scored another runaway goal following a regrouping at halftime. Wereys set out with a simple game plan which was executed with intent, but time was against us. A fine goal was scored following a turnover in midfield. A three-way passing goal between Mitch, Elaine and Nat having the final touch. Final score 2-1 to Plymouth, we wish them the best of luck in the next round of the EH Cup.
