Senior teams back in action
18 January 2025: Three of our senior teams were back in action this weekend after a restful break for the Christmas holiday for their first league games of 2025.
At home, the 1s played a very well-fought game vs Cheltenham 2s. After going down 0-1 in the first half, they managed to bring it back and despite the drama of having a goal disallowed, came away with a 1-1 draw. POM was won by Flo, who managed to secure the rare double of also receiving DOD. With a total of 13 points, this has the 1s sitting in seventh place out of 12.
Straight after was the 2s, who secured a whopping 9-0 win at home vs Old Bristolians 4s. With a combination of penalty flicks, corners and field play, seven players made it on the scoreboard. It was one each for Ellie, Emily, Iris, Maddie, Mainie and Rachel, plus a brilliant hattrick for El! POM went to Emily for some great attacking play and speed on the ball. With another 3 points in the bag, this has the 2s sitting strong at second in their league and 8 points off first place.
Away at Abbeywood, it was another high-scoring game for the 3s winning 0-5 vs Hanham 1s. Scorers were Emma B with 2 and Sally with another hattrick. POM was won by Emma B, closely followed by Elsie. This leaves the 3s sitting in third place in the table with 18 points, just one point behind second.
