About us

Our Vision

Redland Ladies Hockey Club provides high quality sport sessions for young people and adults. This will be achieved through a progressive programme that provides recreational training and playing opportunities for all ages and abilities. The club will also provide a pathway of performance for junior players interested in competing at a local and regional level.

For Adults

Redland Ladies Adult section is a long-established Bristol club with a great mixture of players, across a wide age range (13 to over 60) and all levels of ability. The club runs four senior league teams, competing in the regional leagues – West Women’s Division 1 as well as in Berkeley Divisions 1, 2 and 3.

For season 2023/24 we are also entering again our 4th team as a Development Team in Berkeley Division 3 which was a great success last season and suits our progressing junior players and our Back to Hockey players who are working towards playing at competitive league level.

Our renowned Masters teams The Wereys (Over 45s, Over 50s and Over 55s) compete successfully at regional and national level. The Over 55s were 2022 winners of the England Hockey Over 55s Tier 1 Cup and runners up in 2023.

For Juniors

Under the guidance of Junior Head Coach Cath Coombs, the club ensures a safe environment for our many junior members (starting Year 3) who train at Badminton School, Westbury-on-Trym. Our junior teams compete in the Avon Junior League in the Under 12s (mixed) and Under 14s (girls) competitions.

in March each year, club coaches nominate junior players for the forthcoming Avon Development and Performance Centres – Under 14 to Under 17. This is the recognised player pathway for potential future national players.
