International honours for Redland junior

March 2024: Massive congratulations to 15-year-old Meg who has been selected to play for Wales U18s in their upcoming three match-series against Canada.

Meg, who is a regular first team player at Redland Ladies, started playing hockey at school aged 8. Her hockey really took off when she started at Clifton College and she was subsequently selected for the Welsh regional performance centre aged 13. She’s now 15 and has just been selected for the U18s international series in Cardiff.

She says she loves playing for Redland and, under our coach Clare’s stewardship, has developed a real attacking mindset which paid off in the trials. She also says the first team have been really welcoming and encouraging and that she’s learnt much about her older team mates’ social lives. Hopefully they’ve been a good influence 😉
